Happy new year for everybody. I am enclosing a link to a youtube sketch from BBC that is really funny (My blackberry is not working). It has a bunch of wordplays that are pretty smart. Typical british humor, although you have to know some about technology. The better: the wordplays about the date (sweet eating thing and date in an agenda), the dongle (used in tech world as a converter or device) and at the end the eggbox at 3.60 pounds (Xbox 360), but it has many more http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAG39jKi0lI
Belated Happy New Year and my best wishes for this still exciting 2011, Laura. May your students be good enough to keep the excitement at work and your life exciting enough to keep you going!
As the discussion we had the other day in class about the phrase 'it won't work' refering to a present action, you can see a clear example in this video. When they are talking about the apple thing the client says: Well, I tried to put my dongle in it... and it won't fit! so you're right, he does not use the expression 'it doesn't fit' but it won't fit!
Thank you Miguel, that's a very good example. By the way, you were right about the doghouse, if someone is in the doghouse, another person is annoyed with them because of something they have done, now we are even!;o)
